Metro Mapper is an online news organization dedicated to getting unique and geo-local information out to the public for free. We never sell our data or charge for access to the data. But some services we provide have directly trackable quatifiable costs, service fees, and maintenance hours. These servics are optional and the pricing is listed below. Note that the pricing structure and costs might vary at any time, until you enter into a paid agreement with us. You can sponsor a specific map on a quarterly or yearly basis. Sponsorship involves ads for your company above and to the right of the maps. Users clicking on the link will be passed directly to any page on your site. This sponsorship helps us recoup the costs of running the servers and maintaining the code on our site.

We can help you track ad views and click through conversion rates based on our site traffic. You get targeted, local visitors interested in what you have to offer.

If applicable, we can link to your site in every one of our popups, thus getting visitors not only from our site, but also in user bookmarks, shared and emailed links, embedded maps on other sites, and our Google Mapplets.

Sponsorship cost is based directly on the number of unique pageviews of the map during the previous 3 months of traffic. Cost for a quarter is total traffic divided by 3, rounded up to the nearest $100 increment. So if a map is getting 1,500 page views for the previous 3 months, then the cost to sponsor for the next quarter is $500.

If you are a low traffic site, it's free! If you have high traffic, we recoup our bandwidth and storage costs through a very inexpensive monthly fee based on your site's bandwidth use. Almost all sites will end up paying $50 per month for an embedded map!

There are two monthly costs associated with embedding our maps in your high-traffic site. They are the Storage Fee, and the Bandwidth Fee.

The Storage Fee is based on the number of data points in the map. The cost is $1 per 2,500 records per month (rounded up to the nearest $25 increment). For example, a map with 55,000 records will cost $22 per month, rounded up to $25.

The Bandwidth Fee is based on the number or points viewed by your users. We track the number of points (or markers) viewed on the embedded map each day. If the default map shows 25 points, then viewing that map by a user would count as 25 Point Views. The cost is $1 per 10,000 point views per month (rounded up to the nearest $25 increment). For example, a map that's viewed 300 times a day, with 25 points per map, for 30 days in a month would cost $22.50, rounded up to $25.


We bill these costs to you through an invoice on a monthly basis, based on acutally traffic and hits to your embedded map. Please visit our Create Maps page for examples and contact us with any questions you might have.
